These Terms of Service govern your use of ScoolBot, operated by Maseehas Digital FZCO (UAE). By accessing or using ScoolBot, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part, you may not use the Service.

1. Definitions

"The Service" refers to the ScoolBot platform and all its features. "We", "us", and "our" refer to ScoolBot, operated by Maseehas Digital FZCO. "You" refers to you, the user. "Student", "Teacher", and "Parent" refer to the respective account roles.

2. User Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Do not share your login credentials with anyone. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access at support@scoolbot.com.

Students: Student accounts require parent or guardian approval before creation. Students must provide accurate information during signup.

Teachers: Teacher accounts are for authorised educators only. Teachers are responsible for the quizzes and assignments they create and assign.

3. AI Features & Responsible Use

ScoolBot includes the following AI-powered features:

• AI Tutor: Real-time personalised tutoring powered by Google Gemini
• Quiz Generator: Teachers can generate quizzes with AI assistance
• Teacher Assistant: AI-powered insights on student progress
• Wellbeing Tutor: AI-powered wellbeing support (guidance only — not a substitute for professional advice)
• Live Translate: Real-time speech translation powered by Deepgram
• Presentation Generator: AI-assisted lesson presentations powered by Gamma

How to Use AI Responsibly

• ✅ Use AI to learn, practise, and get explanations
• ✅ Review AI responses for accuracy before using them
• ✅ Tell your teacher when you use AI for assignments
• ❌ Do NOT submit AI-generated work as your own without teacher approval
• ❌ Do NOT use AI during exams or official tests
• ❌ Do NOT rely on the Wellbeing Tutor as a substitute for professional mental health support

Age Restrictions for AI Features

• Recommended age: Year 10 / Grade 9 and above
• School students: AI is only available if your school has enabled AI features and you are in Year 9 / Grade 8 or above
• Home students: Parent or guardian approval is required to access AI features

All AI features display a "🤖 AI-Generated" label so you always know when AI is involved.

4. Academic Integrity

ScoolBot supports learning — not shortcuts. Students who use AI-generated content for school work must:

1. Tell their teacher that AI was used
2. Obtain teacher approval before submitting AI-assisted work
3. Not copy-paste AI responses without demonstrating personal understanding

Violating academic integrity rules may result in disciplinary action per your school's policies. ScoolBot is not responsible for the academic consequences of misuse.

5. UAE Ministry of Education Compliance (2026)

ScoolBot complies with the UAE Ministry of Education's "Safe and Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence in Classrooms 2026" guidelines.

What We Do to Protect You

• ✅ We NEVER send your name to AI systems
• ✅ We NEVER send your ID, email address, or photos to AI systems
• ✅ All AI features are labelled "🤖 AI-Generated" so you know what is AI
• ✅ Teachers must review AI-generated quizzes before assigning them to students
• ✅ All AI usage is logged and monitored for safety (metadata only — no personal content)
• ✅ School administrators can enable or disable AI features for their entire school

For School Administrators

Your school can enable or disable AI features entirely via the school admin dashboard. This setting applies to all students connected to your school. AI features are automatically blocked for students in Year 8 / Grade 7 and below in school contexts.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are the exclusive property of ScoolBot (Maseehas Digital FZCO) and its licensors. ScoolBot trademarks may not be used without prior written consent. Content you create (quizzes, notes, essays) remains yours. You grant ScoolBot a limited licence to store and display your content within the Service.

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies and should be used as a learning aid only — not as authoritative or professional advice.

The Wellbeing Tutor provides general emotional support only. It is NOT a substitute for professional mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services.

In no event shall ScoolBot, Maseehas Digital FZCO, or its directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@scoolbot.com.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be resolved under UAE jurisdiction.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of significant changes via email where possible.
